Foremost Zach’s mother, secondly proud founding member and President of Zach's Wishes for Miracles, Val’s driving focus is “to ensure young adults have something to look forward to as they battle cancer. With every experience we grant, I feel we keep Zach's dreams and legacy alive. It is my honor to know that Zach's Wishes for Miracles helps young adults have a bit of joy in a very trying time”. Val also dedicates long hours to her career as Vice President of Sales and Operations for FAK Distribution, a logistics and 3PL company.
A Denver native, father of three sons and one daughter, and founding member of Zach’s Wishes for Miracles, Tim wears many hats. “After going through a cancer diagnosis with my son Zach and watching him battle this horrible disease twice and ultimately losing his fight, we created this non-profit to create life long memories for those young adults affected by cancer”. Tim currently is employed with Air Methods, the largest air medical ambulance company in the United States.
Another dedicated founding member of Zach’s Wishes for Miracles, Dan believes the experiences provided by ZW4M make “a world of difference for those fighting the fight of their lives and for their families”. Dan's role within ZW4M focuses on growth strategy and business development. Dan is an accomplished corporate and IT strategy Consultant. In his 10+ years of experience, Dan has worked with Fortune 100 and other top international firms.
Alex serves Zach’s Wishes for Miracles not only as founding member, but also as our Chief Financial Officer. When not working with ZW4M, he works as an Operation Manager at CU Boulder in the Office of Admissions. Alex shared, “I volunteer for ZW4M because I enjoy giving back in a way that helps keep Zach's memory alive. I love providing young adults with "experiences" that allow them to think about something other than their individual fights against cancer”.
As we bid farewell to co-founder Hannah Garcia, Scholarship Coordinator and Miracle Liaison, as she begins her graduate studies, the ZW4M board is beginning the search for motivated, philanthropic, and committed individuals to add to our team. Associate Vice President for Student Engagement and Dean of Students at Wichita State University, Christine first became connected with the Mesch family when Zach attended WSU. In addition to many professional organizations, she now sits on the ZW4M board, sharing her unique insight into the world of young adults and ways to expand Zach’s Wishes for Miracles impact. Wife and mother to twin 13 year old boys, Christine is always on the go!
John M. Wallin
Grandfather to Zach Mesch and founding member of the organization, John—lovingly known as Pop— brings a love of philanthropy and vibrant spirit to the board. John’s list of accomplishments is long, ranging from a B.A. degree from University of Montana, to 1st Lt in the United States Army, to Starbucks barista, and Chief Sergeant at Arms for the Colorado House of Representatives.
Sigma Phi Epsilon has been a driving force behind the growth in ZW4M. Luke Luttrell is an active alumnus of the fraternity both at Wichita State and nationally. Luke leverages his large network of relationships to aid in securing experiences for our young men and women while assisting in marketing, web development, and business matters for the ogranization.
Kevin holds the title of founding member and Art Director for Zach’s Wishes for Miracles. He is also the mastermind behind the “Music+Art=Miracles” concept. Where you see graphics for ZW4M, you’ll find Kevin’s creative footprint. You’ll also see his helping hand throughout ZW4M’s social media accounts.
